The traveler must pack lightly, must bring only what can be carried. Space allotments are strictly limited. Time spent in transit is extensive and the date of arrival approximate. Veronica Lussier
Betwixt the seams
Greater than the sum of it’s parts
The things you expect to find as you walk along
the seam, in the open air, where the sea meets the
land,
Can be fragile but unbreakable,
Camouflaged but outstanding,
Dead but still dying.
Shells turn into sand between our fingers,
Motionless, sun bleached crabs,
Starfish skeletons,
And more.
More than just the things that floated, swam,
crawled and were pulled there,
Summoned to congregate along the seam.
More than the earth, sky, and sea creatures,
Dead and alive among the stones
And encased in sand.
Each found thing can be seen, touched, picked up,
held or carried,
But together, All in their places of rest along the
noisy seam,
They form something greater than the sum of it’s
parts,
A beauty,
A power,
An Un-collectable.
