Pacific Dawn Naming Ceremony by John Pond
Pacific Dawn Naming Ceremony by John Pond
The naming ceremony was a spectacular event for Sydneysiders, with the traditional bottle-breaking by Cathy Freeman followed by a stunning light and sound show projected across Circular Quay onto Pacific Dawn’s hull.
Her arrival in Australia as P&O Cruises’ first superliner heralds a new era for the leading cruise company and the Australian cruise market. Pacific Dawn’s superliner status means she offers many new features for the local market, including an abundance of balcony cabins, a wide choice of dining options and multiple entertainment offerings.
It was a great,
though wet night -

It was a bleak rainy night, but all the VIP’s were out in mass for the naming ceremony of Australia’s first superliner to be allocated “full time” to our shores. We have at last come of age with local cruising. J.P.
