Well, I’ve fallen behind on weeks two & three. Week two was more of Cairo and then a weekend at Sharm el Sheikh.

Dust: Everything is coated in it. The palm trees, buildings, windows, cats, bougainville, and my shoes.  Many cars parked along the streets wear a striped “jacket” , tailored to fit the
 
Welcome!  And that is exactly what the Egyptians are always saying to the foreigner, usually the first - or maybe only - word.  “Welcome!” “Welcome!”  “Welcome!”  Sometimes they want you to buy what they’re selling; other times they just want to elicit an  answer.  But’ it’s always said with enthusiasm.  If you say only one thing to someone visiting your country, I think “Welcome!” is the nicest thing to say.
 
This is my first adventure in Egypt, so if  you’d like to come along, too…“Welcome!”
