Bands of America Regional Championships Red Rocks Marching Band Competition Dixie State College • St. George, Utah Friday, November 6, 2009 - Sunday, November 8, 2009 Show Site: Hansen Stadium, Dixie State College 225 S 700 E, St George, UT 84770 Scroll down for a map Housing Sites: (Friday & Saturday) Desert Hills High School 828 East Desert Hills Drive St. George, Utah 84790 - Scroll down for a map Packing List Sleeping Bag, Pillow, Air Mattress or Foam Pad, etc Toiletries and Personal Items (i.e. toothbrush, shampoo, soap, etc) Towel and Flip-Flops for the shower. Some bring a swimsuit for the shower as well. Appropriate attire to sleep in. (Shorts or pajama pants; t-shirt or appropriate tank top. All sleeping attire must be conservative and appropriate. Guys must wear a shirt when sleeping. Clothing for Friday & Saturday at the show and riding the bus. It may be cool in the morning and evening. Plan to dress in layers. A sack lunch and snacks + $$ for lunch and dinner on Sunday and souvenirs. Your marching shoes, Defiance shirt, instrument, etc. Trip Rules & Guidelines General Rules... First and foremost: Act in a way that represents yourself, our program, and our community in a positive way at all times. You must keep your Passport to Fun (Itinerary) with you at all times. You must always be in a group of 3 any time you are not with the band as a whole. This applies any time you go to the picnic area for a meal, to the stadium, etc. On the Bus... You must remain in your seat anytime the bus is in motion. You must use headphones with music/video players. All movies watched must be on the approved movie list (no matter what device you watch them on) You may not be on the bus at anytime without a chaperone. In the Gym... You must be in the gym or the locker rooms. Please do not wander around the campus. You must be in your own sleeping bag at the set lights out time. Don’t be late. Get ready for bed and take care of all of your business in the locker room before lights out. You may listen to music when you are going to sleep, but it must be quiet enough that others cannot hear. You may not watch any movies or videos. No texting after lights out. Please turn off any cell phone noises/alarms, etc. Absolutely no talking after lights out. You may use the restroom during the middle of the night, but please be very quiet so as to not disturb others. Return to your sleeping bag immediately. You may not get up before the lights are turned on in the morning. Please remain quiet until then. One hour time change to Mountain Time (Ahead 1 hour) 5:00pm Arrive in St. George - Dinner/Unload/Watch Bands 8:00pm Performance (Load after the performance) 9:15pm Awards 9:45pm Depart for housing @ Desert Hills High School 11:30pm Lights Out Saturday, November 7, 2009 7:00am Wake Up & Breakfast (Provided) 8:00am Rehearsal @ Desert Hills HS Stadium 10:00am Rehearsal Ends/Load Truck/ 11:30am Depart for Show 12:00pm Lunch @ Show Site (Provided) 12:45pm Watch Bands in Stadium 2:00pm Everyone should be back at the truck after Orem HS Performance 2:25pm Ready to go to warm up 2:40pm Warm Up 3:10pm Pit Leaves for the Gate 3:20pm Pit Report Time 3:25pm Warm Up Ends 3:35pm Band Report Time 3:45pm Clovis West Preliminary Performance 4:00pm Pictures 4:15pm Take equipment to truck and return to the stadium for preliminary awards. 4:45pm Presentation of Awards 5:00pm Dinner at Picnic Area 7:15pm Finals begins Evening Schedule TBA based on whether we make finals or not and when we perform.
