Do you love to photograph wildlife? Do you want to learn how to use “selective focus” and control “depth of field” in your pictures?

This workshop is designed to make you a better wildlife photographer by teaching you about equipment, giving you pointers for shooting wildlife,  and critiquing your work over the course of three days.


This workshop runs concurrently with The Art of Nature Photography at the Loxahatchee River Center. Sign up for both!

Equipment needed for this workshop:


Participants should have a DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex Camera) with interchangeable  lenses.


  1. Bullet  DSLR camera body

  2. Bullet  A variety of lenses, from wide angle to telephoto or a zoom that covers that range

  3. Bullet  Macro lens

  4. Bullet  Media cards for your camera

  5. Bullet  Freshly-charged camera batteries and spares

  6. Bullet  Tripod

  7. Bullet  Cable release

  8. Bullet  Plastic bags to cover your gear or other camera protection

  9. Bullet  Rain gear

  10. Bullet  Towel

  11. Bullet  Water, snacks, sunscreen, insect repellent and a hat

  12. Bullet  Your camera instruction manual

  13. Bullet  Pencil and paper
