The U.S. Congress

It looks like business has never been better in the Congress. It is being reported that companies that have accepted taxpayer bailout money are channeling some of that money back to members of Congress. Those incumbents that “we the people” voted back into office last November haven’t missed a beat. In fact, the bailout(s) may have provided a completely new revenue stream for members of Congress. Now, instead of having to send their own money to Congress, the bailed out companies can simply use the taxpayers’ money to influence the Congress.

Newsweek has identified Bank of America and Citigroup as two TARP (troubled asset relief program) recipients that are channeling money to members of Congress that are in position to do the most good for them. This simply proves that we have the best Congress that money can buy. Millions of jobs have been lost. The U.S. economy is a disaster, but the politicians in Washington and the Wall Street royalty are doing “just fine”. Thank God for having the taxpayers’ money and bonus packages to get them through these difficult times.

Congress Takes Money From Bailout Recipients
