Midnight Oil Studios

Hopefully, not at Midnight Oil Studios. Things get dangerous at the studios when the wolves began to howl. It’s when we power-up the Harmonic Deconstruction Machine and cause a power spike in the city’s electric grid.

Those lucky few who have been privileged to be a guest at the studios around midnight know that anything can happen. The studio buzzes with electricity and sparks fly off a number of our electronic musical instruments. The sounds that come from the studio are hard to describe. A few weeks ago, a nearby neighbor called the police as she thought someone was being murdered. And last month, we received a called from the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

As we say, if you can’t stand the music (or don’t like interruptions in your electricity) get out of range of the the studio. In the meantime, check out the new book on music we’re writing on our New Book page (above). Not finished yet. Many ideas about music expressed in music and written about.

We have had a long interest in symbolism and most of my writings on symbolism are posted on my symbolism site below, one of the Internet’s leading sites on symbolism. Midnight Oil Studios is about the exploration of music and it’s possible connection to symbolism. See the cover for our new The Emerging Symbolism of Music that we plan to bring out soon. See our new page on music reviews as a special regular feature on our Blog Page. Also, check out our Midnight Oiler Newsletters on our Newsletter Page.

It’s Midnight. Do you know where your children are?
“The howl of music in the darkness of night.”

The “old world” is quickly fading into the past as a “new world” rises. What part will music play in this new world? Will there be a “new music” for a “new world”? Midnight Oil Studios continues to explore this question.
