Wow, i am so behind in my blogging! Well last week we left Sunday and took the kids down to Atlanta for some Mimi and papa time with John’s parents.  They had a ton of fun on “papa’s farm” with the cows and special grandparent attention! John and I took a trip down memory lane and went to Auburn for a get away.  I know we just got away for seminar but seminar is kind of draining for us as a couple! It is a lot of talking to lots of people, meetings and family time so although it is lots of fun, we keep it business and social and i have learned to release expectations for any couple time or personal attention! So it worked out well that John’s parents wanted some time with the kids so John and I could get away.  We enjoyed it so much! A great operator friend loaned us his lake house for no charge so it was a nice budget friendly trip! We ate at all of our favorite restaurants: Niffers, Amsterdams, Toomer’s Lemonade, Deans BBQ, BBQ house, etc! We saw 2 movies, Slumdog Millionaire and the international, both great but Slumdog was probably the best movie i have seen in years.  I am so glad it is so popular because i think america often lacks a worldview that it presents.  I thought it was awesome! We also had a huge God moment and bumped into our campus minister Matt Dean.  It was truly God ordained! Our campus ministry (grace campus ministries) is shutting down in Auburn and relocating to HONG KONG! John and I are so excited to have gotten to talk to matt and hear his heart and all of the awesome ways God has orchestrated this huge move for his family (wife and 3 kids under 5) and 10 staff members.  Be praying for them and email me if you would like to get involved in supporting this awesome movement! Hong Kong is actually an open country until 2047 until China most likely will take over and make it closed so it is an awesome opportunity to make an eternal difference in the millions of student aged adults there.
So it was a great trip! It snowed like crazy and a few days after we got back to NC it was 80 degrees. Crazy weather, but it is supposed to be back to the 30’s and 40s by friday!
Our church moves into the new building this week about .4 miles from our house! That is exciting! John turns 27 Monday also exciting!
