Robots Around

So here is the story, one night after a long night of spring time dodgeball Liz asked me what I was going to turn in for my senior video project. I had told her that I was just going to turn in something that I had already done that the teacher hasn’t seen yet. I thought it was a good plan, but she wouldn’t let me do it. I had reminded her that it is already past midnight and it would be due the following day at 1pm, less than 12 hours away. She said that she we still had time.

So that night, we stormed with something to shoot. We decided that we were just going to simply go around downtown chicago dancing the Robot to the song Harder Better Stronger Faster anywhere that was nicely lit or anywhere public that had people roaming around.  We started shooting around 1:30am and finished around 5 when the sun was coming up, started editing the footage 5:30am and finished it, put on DVD and delivered to school about 30 minutes before it was due. Needless to say, it was a hit.

Go watch!

Near the end of the last shot, there was a BMW blowing bubbles at my as I was trying to do the robot at the McDonald’s drive through lane. We did not plan them to be there nor for them to be in the shot. It was just a pleasant coincidence. The police car that pulled up behind me yelled out on their speaker “HEY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?” as I was still dancing. The only true way to respond to those cops was to say...

“THE ROBOT!” and keep dancing till my heart was content. Good Times.
