This film is not simply a film about Bill Watterson or Calvin & Hobbes.  What we really hope to capture is the amazing influence that Mr. Watterson’s comic has had on people across the globe.  When the strip was retired on December 31st, 1995, it was published in over 2400 papers worldwide.  Truly, an enormous number of people were inspired by Mr. Watterson’s magical world.

If you are one of those people, we’d like to hear from you.  There are several ways in which you will have a chance to participate, or even be, in this film.  Check out our 10 Things You Can Do For Dear Mr. Watterson below for ideas on how you can get involved.

If you would like to interact with other fans of Calvin & Hobbes and Bill Watterson, we encourage you to join Facebook and participate in the discussion boards that are a part of our Facebook group.  This group has been created to promote our film and participation in it, and to encourage discussion about Calvin & Hobbes, Bill Watterson, and comics.  We will soon have more of a presence on MySpace and YouTube as well.  We’re even experimenting with Twitter.

Many people have contacted us to find out what they could do for this film, and we have been overwhelmed with offers of support.  So, without further ado, we now reveal our list of “10 Things You Can Do For Dear Mr. Watterson.”  Check out the list.  Do what you can.  Have fun doing it.

1. 1.Join our mailing list.
   

2. 2. When you meet other Calvin & Hobbes fans, tell them about us!
   

3. 3. Join our Facebook or MySpace groups.
   

4. 4. Promote us on your own website or blog.  (We hope to have some banners for you to use soon...)
   

5. 5. Write a letter to Bill Watterson (but send it to us instead!)
   

6. 6. Make a video for Bill Watterson (and upload it to our YouTube group and/or send it to us).
   

7. 7. Send us your Calvin & Hobbes inspired photographs, artwork, projects, poems, scripts, drawings, stories, cartoons, comics, videos, etc.
   

8. 8. Send us a photo of yourself at age 6 or so.
   

9. 9. Donate your frequent-flier miles to us. (hmmmm....as we researched this more, it is a total pain.  But let us know if you have something else you’d like to donate!)
   

10. 10.  Contribute your hard-earned cash to our film fund.
