Ethics & Charities

Active people and multi-sport athletes need to use bodies of water, roads and pathways - by minimizing our impact we hope to help keep the environment in its natural untarnished state.

Living in rural North Devon we are acutely aware of the environment and therefore we think about our impact as a business and how best to minimise our use of resources.

We think the following ‘green’ actions are worthwhile, though we continue to modify and innovate ways we can help our local environment:

local journeys made by bicycle where possible

long distance journeys in fuel economical VW diesel (~52-60mpg)

envelopes, paper and cardboard recycled using
local collections and facilities

padded envelopes and packaging re-used

low power consumption Mac computers with energy saving settings

minimal printing in favour of electronic storage at
.Mac

office fitted with
low heat loss glass, well insulated walls and energy efficient heating

large natural light intake to minimise use of
low power artificial lighting

low power
Philips Bright Light Box (HF3308) for use in winter

abide by the Green living guide

We also believe that we can make a difference in small ways by doing things for those less fortunate than ourselves:

used printer cartridges & old mobile phones sent to Dogs Trust .org.uk

wear a safety id-tag in case of emergency - see CRAMtags

used postage stamps sent to
Hearing Dogs For Deaf People

We send an electronic Christmas card to save resources, postage etc
and in the New Year Christmas cards received are sent to
Woodlands Trust

saving over £100 by not printing cards mean
Tailends get some much needed money

blood donation once or twice a year to the National Blood Service
