Relevance is one of the three big R’s in education these days.  (Rigor, Relevance, Relationships).  There is a general recognition that many students are not engaged in their work leading to boredom and issues of retention, depth of learning, and failure.

For Big Picture Schools, creating an environment where students are known well and they are connected to relevant work is key to student success and achievement.
