Day Eight France

Day 8 – Tuesday May 9, 2006

Tuesday morning was not eventful as Chris and I both caught up on bookkeeping. That afternoon we drove to Cologne.  The Cathedral did not disappoint me at all. It was even bigger than I thought it would be. The ancient towers of Der Kölner Dom rivaled the modern skyscrapers for attention. It was a miracle that it survived World War II as the city was almost entirely leveled by Allied bombs.

Next I took the high-speed train from Cologne to Paris to spend the evening with Camille and Michel Goussu. We went to the famous Brasserie Bofinger for dinner and caught up on everything. We reviewed the details of Vincent Dubois’ new JAV CD to be recorded at St. Sulpice later this week. We also plotted our next big project. Sorry, it is TOP SECRET now, but it has never been done before!

I even ran into a fellow Notre Dame alumnus from Zahm Hall, Class of 1986. I caught up on what Charlie Weis is doing and we talked about the exciting upcoming football season…always nice to run into another Domer for dinner someplace other than the Huddle.
