Prepare for Rain

Have you seen the movie, “Facing the Giants”? If not, we highly recommend this movie full of spiritual wisdom and encouragement.
One scene in this movie depicts the coach, Grant Taylor, listening to Mr. Bridges, a mighty prayer warrior, telling him a parable about two farmers who desperately needed rain. Both farmers prayed for rain but only one of them went out and prepared his fields to receive the rain. Mr. Bridges asks, “Which one trusted God to send the rain?” “The one who prepared,” replied the coach.  “God will send the rain when He’s ready. You need to prepare your fields to receive it” states Mr. Bridges.
We’ve been preparing to leave for Liberia for many months now waiting on God to “send the rain.”  It’s been a journey in learning to trust God and His timing. We wish we could say to you that we’ve been uplifted and full of encouragement throughout all these days of waiting but that would not be truthful. There were days when we felt the discouragement creeping into our lives, when God’s hand and presence could not be sensed nor seen. But through the faithful prayers of our mighty prayer warriors (524 strong now!) and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit speaking through many of you, and the slow but constant preparations, we now are witnesses of God’s great and awesome love and care.
The “rain” from heaven fell Monday, September 10th. In fact, we were so overcome with the Lord’s blessings that we can only shout “Hallelujah” and give Him the glory, praise and honor.
Miraculous Monday as we now call it began with a call from one of our Pastors informing us that his congregation purchased a water filter for us to take to Liberia and it was being mailed that day! The next call gave us the news that one of our sponsoring conferences was covering all our shipping costs! Then we received another partnership form in the mail! Next was a check from a local business that we hand delivered a partnership letter to that day! Then the call to headquarters informing us that we are very close to meeting our financial support goal and that it should be reached within days!
Now all these miracles from the hand of God were followed today by a friend giving us a check to cover the costs of the extras we need to make the car we’re shipping ready for the Liberia climate and terrain!
All our overwhelmed hearts can cry is “Praise the Lord!” He is a God of the miraculous. He gets full credit for everything that has happened--past, present and future!
