Freshman English is a literature survey course of works from different authors, countries, and genres. We will read novels, short stories, poetry, plays, and essays.
Freshman English is also a combination of grammar review, vocabulary building, and composition. For each unit of literature we cover, there will be elements of grammar involved. Each unit will have a vocabulary list made up of words from the different works, and students will use these words in a variety of contexts. Each unit will also have a variety of student created compositions, including original works of poetry, short stories, essays, and several research projects.
