Click here to visit the TOK classroom blog One of the goals of this year’s TOK classes is to remove the walls surrounding our class discussions. We want to create conversations that can be had by students in different classes and possibly even in different schools. We have created a PHS TOK blog that we hope will facilitate the beginning of these conversations. Where they go from there is up to you.

Use it now because our hope is that this conversation will be opening up soon... to other schools and maybe to other countries. We have a few potential partners that may join us.

UPDATE: Check out our new international blog...
We are soon restarting our World Blog with schools from Singapore, China, UK, Germany, Ecuador, and the U.S..

Requirements for ALL Students (Class & Seminar):

Each student will be expected to complete the following minimum requirements....

    - Blog Hosting 1x per semester
Hosting the blog will include posting a question or
issue for discussion and answering/filling out the
appropriate “Blog Log”. This is due on the Tuesday
after your hosting week. If you are taking the class,
this is due to your teacher. If you are a seminar-only
students, please turn it in to Mrs. King in the IB office.

    - Blog Commenting 1x per quarter
A minimum of one comment per quarter for each
student is required. This is not a post. This is a
comment made on other student’s or teacher’s ideas/
questions. For most of you, this will be no problem
considering how integral the blog will be for the class/
        seminar/discussions. Use it... it will

There are links to the Blog Log form and Hosting Calendar on this page so that you may print it off when your turn comes or need reminders of hosting times.  There always will be more than one host per week but you are still responsible for all duties.  This is an integral part of the course and one that I hope you will soon enjoy and see the value in.
We often will tell you that the more vocal you are about the classroom topics and the more you get involved in the daily routines, the deeper your understanding of the course material will be.  In the past three years, it has become very obvious that those students that utilize the blog show a stronger understanding and ability to show their knowledge in their final paper and presentation than those students that choose not to.
Take advantage of another way to challenge yourself in your thinking and preconceived notions.  Bring any and all ideas that you find interesting, no matter the subject matter it might fit.  Just make it fit the TOK discussion, which is never very difficult to do.
