Electronic Design
Electronic Design 1

    Electronic Design students will explore the fundamentals of
artistic design through technology. The semester begins with learning
basic operational skills on a Macintosh computer.  Students progress
toward understanding and utilizing design concepts within photoshop and
illustrators. Emphasis is placed on the elements and principles of
design and their creative application to illustration, package design
and advertisement.  Students will learn how to develop layouts,
manipulate type, and express themselves creatively.  Focus will be
placed on portfolio development.  Students will evaluate themselves and
others through written and oral critiques.
Electronic Design II

Open to:    Grades 9-12
Prerequisites:    Grade of "C" or better in Electronic Design 1
Weight:    College Prep
Duration/Credit:    Semester/ 1 Credit    *Tech Prep
Students will learn to apply the skills and techniques learned in
Electronic Design 1 to a variety of projects.  Electronic Design 2
offers students exciting opportunities to explore the elements and
principals of design as they apply to illustration, package design,
photo manipulation and advertisement. Students will continue to work
toward completing a well organized portfolio.
Digital Imaging
Course Number:    1732
Open to:    Grades 10-12
Prerequisites:    Grade of "C" or better in Electronic Design 1
Weight:    College Prep
Duration/Credit:    Quarter/.5 Credit
             This course is a Fine Arts approach in computer imaging.
Students will learn the process of producing images with a digital
camera. Students will explore image manipulation, enhancement and the
integration of text, digital photography, scanning and drawing. Students
will create an interactive portfolio in Power Point of the work they
create.
Independent Study in Drawing, Painting, Electronic Design, Photography, & Printmaking
Course Number:    To be assigned
Open To:    Grades 11-12
Prerequisites:    Successful completion of all courses within the field
and principal's approval
Weight:    College Prep
Duration/Credit:    Semester/1 Credit or Quarter/.5 credit
1.    Only those students who have completed all sequential classes
within the desired area (i.e., art, electronic design, drawing;
photography, painting may apply.)
2.    Students must maintain at least a "B" average in all courses in
the field of interest.
3.    The principal will consider all Independent Study applications.
Approval will depend on all criteria being met, space availability in
classrooms, and completion of written curriculum for the specific
independent study.
4.    If a student wants to go beyond 1 credit with an Independent
Study in a certain field, he/she needs to present a portfolio.
