2009 Healthy Kids Day was a great fun family day!
On May 2nd, there was plenty of fun for kids and the adults at the Attleboro YMCA.
First, the kids competed Strawberry Patch Run and the adults competed Attleboro YMCA’s 5k or 10k races in the morning.
After they competed their races, they went inside Attleboro YMCA for more fun by doing relay races, hula hoops, playing games, and dancing. At the end of the event, there was Step Challenge Awards Ceremony for 4th and 5th grades and Corporate categories.
In 4th grade division:
1st place- Hyman Fine Elementary School with 265,049 steps
2nd Place- Studley Elementary School with 157,012 steps
3rd place- Hill-Roberts with 150,697 steps,
4th place- St. Johns with 140,274 steps
5th place- Thacher Elementary School with 138,749 steps
6th place- Willett Elementary came in sixth with 113,373 steps.
In 5th grade division:
1st place- Brennan Middle School with 156,261steps
2nd place- Wamsutta with 139,469 steps
3rd place- Coelho with 128,724 steps
4th place- St. John's
Sturdy Memorial Hospital won the Corporate Step Challenge award, who has more steps than other local businesses in Attleboro area, with 20, 597 steps per person for each day.
Congratulations to all of local schools and businesses who participated in this year’s Step Challenge.
Everyone had a great day at the Attleboro YMCA by competing in the road races and spent rest of the morning inside the Attleboro YMCA by playing and dancing and having more fun.
