Attleboro YMCA Jaguars competed in Youth Relay with other teams at Boston Indoor Games

On February 7th, 2009, Attleboro YMCA Jaguars competed in  200 meter Youth Relay with other youth teams at Boston Indoor Games, which is a huge track and field meet for Olympians and World Class athletes compete in Boston. The Youth Relay has six relay teams around in New England. USA Track and Field and Reebok picked Attleboro YMCA Jaguars to compete this event with other youth track teams. On Jaguars team, there was Marissa, Aaron, Heather, and Ryan.

She ran fast pass the Reebok banner at the first turn of the track at Boston Indoor Games, where the Olympians compete!

Heather passed the baton to Ryan, who is Anchor Leg for Jaguars, ran fastest he can to the finish line on 200M track.


With these great Jaguars athletes competed, they finished in 2:01 seconds in 4th place! Congratulations to these athletes to represent Attleboro YMCA Jaguars at one of big Olympic events to compete Youth Relay at Boston Indoor Games.

Meet the 2009 Boston Indoor Games Youth Relay Team:


Marissa Horn, 12,
Mansfield MA

An all around athlete, Marissa also competes in soccer and gymnastics. This is her first season competing in track & field. Marissa posted the fastest girls 200 meter time on the Jaguar team for 2009 and also competes in high jump.  


Aaron G. Filipe, 14,
South Attleboro

In his last 2 indoor meets Aaron was undefeated in 55 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters and high jump. 2009 marks the 3rd time Aaron has qualified for the Boston Indoor Games Youth Relay Team.


Heather Allstrom, 11,
Attleboro

Heather is our youngest qualifier for the Jaguars Boston Indoor Games Relay team. Not only does she excel in sprints, in 2008 Heather broke the 4th grade school record for the girl’s mile.


Ryan Poholek, 12,
North Attleboro

Ryan started running 2 years ago and placed first in the North Attleboro Kids Day races in 07 & 08. New to the Jaguar’s this season Ryan placed 1st in the 200 meters in his first two indoor meets.

Upcoming Events With Jaguars


March 3


Full Track Practice with 4:30 1 or 2 mile run, 5pm Running Drills, Games, Long Jump & Shot Put. 6pm is High Jump Practice.
