My first meeting with Gort.  He is located at Sci-Fi City on Colonial Blvd in Orlando Florida.  The display sign used information from the Suit page of this website.

Gort's first appearance on "The Simpson's" TV show, "The Springfield Files" Features Marvin the Martian, Gort, Chewbacca the Wookie, Alf, and one of the resident Simpson aliens, Kragg.  Gort is an imposter as he about 5 inches too short!

Billiken toy wind-up Gort Toy.  Only about 500 were produced.  Current purchase price: about $300.  Not very well detailed - the only significant feature is the helmet.  Arms move up and down as the robot walks.
Japenese toy Gort in box with cover art.  Still crude although has more detail in torso and legs than the Billiken toy.

This is an original newsprint ad for The Day the Earth Stood Still. Written to look like a real newspaper. First 2 pages tell of UFO landing in Washington DC with several articles. 3rd page tells about the actors, directors and Hollywoods advancement in science-fiction movies for 1951, and possibility of flight to moon. Last page has poster advertisement for this movie at 2 Wichita, KS theatres on Oct 5-10. (These theatres are no longer around). Also has ad for the movies The Desert Fox, and People Will Talk. Paper measures 16" x 11 1/2"
