I thought it might be nice to welcome you to my web site with  photographs of the beautiful English countryside. all three were taken at Cliveden in Buckinghamshire. The picture on the left at the top of the page is of Old Father Thames, and I think it is a much prettier view than the more familiar pictures that show it flowing through London town. the  next picture on the right is of a stream meandering through the estate and the word beautiful would not be an over statement in describing that scene. The  final picture is a general view of the countryside, and there are many such places to stand, take in the scene, and wonder at the beauty of it all from many places  throughout The estate. The huge mansion at Cliveden is now days  used as an up market hotel, and is popular for weddings, conferences etc. The grounds and gardens are outstanding and well worth a visit. Not only is Cliveden  beautiful but it is a place where an important piece of historical scandal happened, that being the Profumo affair in 1963. But that is another story. For now I will say no more on that subject, and let you if you will, visit the rest of my web. But I will be adding more Photo’s and text about Cliveden on another page.
