Jill’s Home - Oak Glen, CA
I’ve put together some pictures and information here about my home and my interests aside from Great Danes.
I’m blessed to live in a lovely area in the Southern California foothills known as Oak Glen. It’s a little community that was mostly homesteaded over a hundred years ago by several different families, including the Wilshire family from whom I purchased my property. The apple orchards were their income at that time. Now Oak Glen still grows apples, but they’re mostly sold to tourists who come up to visit during the fall apple harvest. The village consists of many ‘country’ type shops, restaurants and historical sites. At approximately 5000 feet in elevation, we’re lucky to remain cool and comfortable during most of the year.
I’m an amateur photographer and will share some of my favorite photos with you on these pages. I feed our wild bird population in feeders that hang just outside of my ‘office’ where I’m usually found working on my computer doing stuff like this!
Besides my current 3 Great Danes (Buzzie, Sky and Tessa) I also share my home with 2 cats, Jaieena and Blackberry, and an African Gray Parrot named Cosby. (His ancestors were from Africa and he’s a comedian and I adore Bill Cosby, thus his name). I had horses for most of my life, both Miniatures and riding horses but now my barn is occupied only by my 2 barn kitties, Stubbie and LT.
