Well, today we did a reshoot to see if Joey would be more cooperative. Not so much. The poor little guy had horrible gas and spent most of time crying. I got in a few shots, but I’m not terribly impressed with anything that I got. However, we did get to incorporate Addison into the photos this time around, hence the shot above. When I first took the above shot, I thought it might turn out really cute, but I think I needed a slightly different angle on it. Oh well, I know better for next time. Here are a few shots that I did get in.
Probably my best shot all day! She is too cute!

My effort to be creative. Didn’t turn out as well as I would have liked.
This wasn’t a great picture, but it cracks me up because it looks like Addison is trying to eat Beth’s arm!

The best shot I got of the three of them.
We are planning on doing proper engagement photos soon, but we did a quick shoot on Sunday so they could have some photo options for their Save the Date cards. We went to the pedestrian bridge out at Town Lake. Renee and Andrew really wanted to incorporate the long boards into their photos, because they first decided they really liked each other when Andrew taught Renee how to board. At first I was really excited about the clouds, because it’s perfect for picture taking. Cloudy weather creates a nice, soft lighting and you don’t have to worry about harsh shadows. I didn’t think it was going to rain, but about 15 minutes into the shoot it started. I still think we got some cute pictures, despite the uncooperative weather. Hear are some of my favorites. You’ll notice some of pictures are taken so that there is negative space to fill in the info about the wedding on the postcard.

I realized that I promised to post the items I had bought at Christmas in October from when I went to Salado and then never did. You may recall me talking about them in this post. The item you see above is an adorable little knitted reindeer I picked up. He can technically be an ornament on a tree, but since I only have a little tree I think he will serve as decoration some place else. My next item is this little glass snowman. It’s hard to see in the picture but his bottom “ball of snow” is glass filled with the little tiny balls of styrofoam they put in pillows. His scarf is blue and I just thought he was cute and a perfect addition for my tiny tree.

My last item was this little representation of Santa’s sleigh. I thought it was a great caricature of Santa and his reindeer.

I always enjoy going to things like this to see what creative ways people come up with to decorate for Christmas. I don’t know if it’s my mom’s influence or having grown up overseas or what but I always like to have kind of an eclectic style to Christmas decorations. I’m not really into the department store, mass produced handicrafts kind of decorating. In fact, when I travel overseas I try to find items that I can turn into Christmas ornaments. When I was in Tanzania I picked up a pack of carved wooden animals to turn into Christmas ornaments. I always find it fun for people to come over to my house and ask me about the unique items I have on my tree. It’s so much more fun when there is a story behind the item, instead of I got it at Hallmark.

His mom had asked me to take them back in June when Tripp turned two, but we kept having scheduling conflicts. However, we finally worked out a time to take pictures, despite rain and heat. I think I got some good photos though, even when we were all sweating through our clothes. These are some of my favorites.

This is what happens when you tell a two year old to smile nicely.
Playing the guitar.

I had the opportunity to dogsit this past weekend in Salado and I had a great time. Salado had it’s Christmas in October this past weekend, so there were plenty of shopping opportunities. I bought several cute Christmas decoration items and some really yummy food stuff. I have only been to Salado a few times, but I always enjoy it. The shopping there is really fun and something is usually going on every weekend. Apparently, the weekend before was a wine and chocolate festival. (I think I would have enjoyed that too.) After I had done a little shopping, I noticed a car show going on as well. I usually don’t care that much about cars, but since these cars were the old fashioned kind with really pretty colors I pulled out my camera and started snapping some photos.

After I had fun taking pictures of cars, I explored Salado a little more, which led me to a historical part of town. There are two log cabins that the Salado Historical Society has preserved. They are right next to what looks to be a family cemetary which dates back to the Civil War. I then walked on to discover these really cute houses that seem to have taken a page out of classic Americana for their look. I just wish that when I was packing I had decided to bring my tripod. Overall, I had a great weekend. I hope you guys enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.
