Today’s nutrition challenge for 2 Frequent Flyer miles is to go for 24 hours without drinking a can of pop! This includes all forms of diet or regular pop as well as punch, Kool-Aid, and other sweetened beverages!
We will continue to brainstorm additional ‘Just Do It’ Fitness challenges and announce them tomorrow!
Our walk/run continued today with a temperature of 18 degrees. We are still waiting for the contractor to come and remove the ice off of the sidewalk. Some of us are ready to begin running, but the ice is still pretty thick. With a large portion of us drinking between 2-6 cans of pop a day, we are trying to attack today’s challenge!

I felt better today than yesterday, because I pushed myself twice as hard. Nick
I feel great every since we started this activity. I am more energized and not as cranky. Every since we started, I’ve been going to bed and not drinking pop. That is a very good start for me. I hope to keep up the work. Oh, I almost forgot, that after I’ve been walking I have felt more ready for the day!
Another wonderful thing is I have felt way healthier then eating all that junk food. Now I think twice and go and get veggies rather then the chips or candy. Kayle
I didn't have any pop last night and I had a lot of water and milk. I didn't get 9 hours of sleep and but I did have a breakfast. I didn't usually eat breakfast without this challenge, but when I ate breakfast I noticed during the day I had more energy and I was able to do more without running out of energy.
I have eaten more fruits and vegetables, while drinking healthier drinks and trying to cut back on the pop.
I have noticed since we started this that I am feeling a lot better during the day and I've had a lot more energy. Heather
Yesterday I ate and drank all my recommended servings, and got 9 hours of sleep. My breakfast was healthy, and I took a walk for the 30 minutes I needed to have to get my hour of exercise. I have gym for 45 mins. today, so i won't have to go on another walk, but i might anyway if i get bored. Mariah
Today I had met my goal by going 4 laps around the school, and I am going to push myself harder, and so by the end of the week I want to get 5 or 6 laps around the school.
My exercise was about a nine or ten because I ran around 35-40 sprints in gym class today, I played hockey, I ran\walked around the school 4 times, and after school I am going home to run for 4 miles.
Since the beginning of this project up to now, I feel healthier than I was before. It’s harder to eat healthy and exercise all of the time, but you have to think that it makes you healthier. Once you finish the day eating healthy and exercising well it feels good. Emily
Last night I accomplished eating my vegetables. That was the hardest for to me accomplish. I eat vegetables but not as much as I'm supposed to, unless we are having kohlrabi or cucumbers. I feel awesome when I eat the right amount of fruits and vegetables and less junk food. Marissa
Today when I was walking I had many successes. One of them were getting around 4 time, and for that I was really happy because usually I cant do that. So that made me really proud. Alyson
I actually ate healthy yesterday! I had all my fruit but only two vegetables, and I walked a total of 3 miles!!!! I've been getting my sleep, and I had a very nutritional breakfast this morning and yesterday morning.Two of my downfalls were not drinking enough and not eating my vegetables!!! Today I think Im going to improve. I'll workout more and and EAT MY VEGETABLES!! Otherwise, today was pretty good. I didn't make it 4 times around, but we did make it 3. We decided to push ourselves to run, and tomorrow we are going to aim for 4 again. Gabo
I think that walking every morning is kinda cool. It's something to do and it's also good for our body's.
My successes for the rest of this month of running is to at least get around 5 or 6 times. Maybe I should walk faster, I like to talk to my friends without being out of breath though. Another goal/success for the month is to find a buddy to walk with every day. Kerstin
Today I went around the school 4 times which is 2 more then what I did yesterday. I completed my goal of getting enough hours of sleep and more exercise, but not vegetables. Yesterday I had 5 miles and with bring a buddy I got 40 all together. My goal for tomorrow is to get all of my vegetables and healthy beverages. Lennon
Today I worked extra hard. I ran five laps around the building, and yesterday I only went three. This shows me that I’m working harder and doing awesome. I want to keep up this hard work so I can get even healthier than I already am. Josh

I am making great progress in my goal for a healthy lifestyle. There hasn't been any vegetables left on my plate in three days and everyday after school, I run two and a half miles, work out, and eat a healthy snack. I told my mom to start making more meals with a lot of vegetables. This project has even gotten my dad off the couch to play soccer with me. My life is getting better. Mitch
I do feel better when I exercise because I like to walk and run with my friends and plus I’m getting in better shape. Exercise is a good way I think for getting in shape. So next week on Monday my mom and I are going to start running together. In the last 24 hours I ate 2 fruits and 3 vegetables. My mom wont let me leave the table until I finish them. Also I like my so of my fruits and vegetables so I always leave the table first. I feel a lot healthier now that I’m am watching what I eat and making sure I’m getting the correct amount of servings each day. Tan
As of now, I am not going to set my goals any higher until I reach it at least twice. Then maybe I can set my goal to 5 laps, and make 100% sure that I get enough fruits and vegetables. Taylor R.
It was ALOT better then just walking without music. I really think it helped improve my attitude towards the whole walking outside in the early morning cold that seemed to have dampened my mood yesterday with out my music! Delaney
I have accomplished a few goals. I have stopped on the pop (not entirely I drink 1 can a week.. I think I am healthy now, because I am eating what I am supposed to and run at least 4-5 laps at resource time.Stacy

I can’t believe it, but I was actually running. I like to exercise, but running just isn’t my thing. I feel pretty proud of myself, but I know that it will improve while time goes on. My goal is to run a mile every night. As I improve though, I will add more miles into my exercise plan. I feel a lot more energized now that I have started this project, and I am excited for getting healthier! Heather
Yesterday I went to the YMCA again. My friends also went. I had 5 friends and me. I met my goal and got 1 mile and a half. M y new goal is to get 2 miles. Jacob
Yesterday was a more healthy day for me. I had all my fruits and three of my veggies. I drank two Gatorades, three glasses of water, and two glasses of juice. With this short amount of time I can already feel a little more healthy, but just barely. The walk today was actually fun because I stuck with my friends the whole time. In fact, we almost ran the whole four laps. I'm going for five laps tomorrow. I will really be pushing it. Jay

My successes have increased, because I have been drinking less soda, and eating more fruits. I love fruits! But I despise vegetables! I wish I'd like them, but nothing can change my mind or taste buds.
I am going to try and start to treadmill, because I am not much of a winter person. I don't get outside much because of the cold. I do not do basketball. If this was spring, things would be much different, because I play soccer in spring, and ride my bike all the time! Isaiah

I did achieve my goals, one, I slept exactly 9 and-a-half hours! I felt a lot better than I usually do. I'm usually just sitting there saying who cares, but today I was interested and excited. I wanted to learn! My other goal that I achieved was I drank eight glasses of water. I was so happy that I achieved that goal.
I ran yesterday after school. I ran for like 45 minutes by myself, because my brother was too lazy. He sleep all day and does nothing, not even homework. I was like let’s go do something. I am proud of myself for what I have done so, maybe I can accomplished i today but im trying to get everything like eating healthy food and dont eat junk food and pop. That is my goal. Hai
