It was a lot colder today than yesterday. We registered in at 19 degrees. At least most of us remembered our mittens today! A class discussion revealed that almost everyone was able to walk farther than yesterday. We had an incredible amount of student success today! One of the most exciting things about this project was the number of parents that decided to get involved! Parents went running, walking, shopping for healthy foods, and much more to help support our project. All this through word of mouth - our word - the kids. This is going to be a great Trek across Asia that helps us all to be healthy!

Last night I set a goal not to eat junk food. I didn't have any junk food last night.- Heather
What I accomplished yesterday asking my mom if she wanted to go and run with me at the YMCA. She was stunned that I asked her to go, because I normal don’t want to go with her at the Y. I normally want to run outside. My mom was really excited that I wanted to go with her. That was one of my accomplishments. Secondly, I ate more fruit and vegetables. Tan
We are the "Tundra Trekkers." It was SO cold out! It was kind of breath taking to me, because I just got used to the warmth inside. We took 30 minutes to walk, and my friends and I got about two laps in. - Mariah
Normally I barely ever eat all of my fruits and vegetables,but to my surprise it just so happens that yesterday I did! Instead of two pops yesterday, I only had one, which is a big step for me. Usually on an average day I would drink at least 3-4 and sometimes more. I'm starting to like this Tundra Trekkers program more and more as I think about how it might encourage me to start eating right. Yesterday I felt extremely tired, and it was a big hassle to get up. Today I sprung out of bed, no problem. Hopefully after a few days I will gradually begin to feel healthier. Taylor R.
I accomplished a few goals last night. One of them was that I went running four miles. It's something I rarely do. I only run about 3 times every 6 months! I think I should start over and go running everyday that I don't have basketball\softball. The second goal I accomplished was when I told my mom about what we were doing and how it all worked, so after I told her she went off buying tons of vegetables! Emily
If I had to rate my effort, I would give myself 7 out of an 10. I feel a little better after I ran outside around the school. I didn’t do any exercise outside of class. -Dalton

What I accomplished yesterday was that I drank more water and got a lot of exercise. I also got more sleep than I usually do but not 9 hours. - Molly
I have a friend that will work with me for this project; it is my mom. I think that we will become "closer" than what we are now through this project. if i don't eat healthy or do something active she will encourage me to do something better and to stop my bad habits, and everyday we can go walking\running together because in high school she did track so she loves to run! - Emily
I think that walking every morning is kinda cool. It's something to do, and it's also good for our bodies. I just want it to warm up; it's kind of cold! Gunner

I thought as I got up, “Good I get some good morning work, because I got to run and talk to my friends.” I think that I should feel good about myself because I get to work out. It makes me feel proud of myself. - Jake
I woke up this morning, excited about being able to skip resource so I could walk around the school. It's good exercise and fun at the same time. Being a healthy person feels good and will most likely allow me to live longer. I feel better about myself now that I am doing something healthy for my body. I am going to try to keep up these healthy habits so I don't end up like some people I know.
When we were running this morning, I was cold. I had all of the necessary clothing, it was just freezing. I ran through it though and completed 5 whole laps! Usually I get enough exercise but now I get double what I used to. I love being healthy. - Mitch
I can’t believe I made a big accomplishment. i talked my mom into having us work out. She said when it warms up that it will be 50 degrees in a couple of days. I cant wait i am so excited and happy because i never accomplish anything. We are going to to work out and eat right and and drink the right things. Kim
When I woke up this morning I couldn't wait to walk to school, because I ate lots of veggies the day before. The snow made the walk rough, but I walked farther than I had yesterday. I stayed at a slower pace till the end. Drake
My accomplishment was that I didn't drink any thing that wasn't healthy.
I think my aunt would have to be the biggest motivation. She had cancer and beat it! She eats healthy and she exercises everyday. She is fun to walk with. Every time we go to see her I always go walking with and we talk about stuff I don't want to talk to other people about. So I find her to be my biggest motivation! Lesley
I decided to try and cut down on pop. I'd usually drink at least 4-5 a day or even more. I have now realized that is not good for my body. When I went to the grocery store yesterday, I decided to get more juice instead of pop. Yesterday, on the first day of my commitment, I cut it down to 2 pops and started drinking more water.I will hopefully, eventually, cut it down to none. But slowly, because it’s kind of difficult. It’s so addicting! Isaiah
Yesterday I got three laps around. Tomorrow I am going to try to get two more. Today I wasn't able to do that goal. - Heather
What I accomplished was eating breakfast, some vegetables, and exercise. I ate nutritional breakfast today, had vegetables for lunch (but not enough), and I jogged for 15 min or so which is one mile. Lastly I walked around school 3 times better than yesterday!
My next goal is to eat fruits and more vegetables also sleep for 9 hours. Tou

On my first day of eating healthy over the twenty-four hour period, I ate very healthy. After last night my goal is to eat healthy and exercise every night. - Evan
What I accomplished was eating fruits. Yea woooo!! I don’t really eat fruit, but I did it. I ate two apples. One is a lot for me, but two is way better than one. I was so active when I ate that much. I didn’t think I could make it because my first one my stomach was full. I couldn’t eat anymore, but I had to. I just had to. So I waited for two hours or so, but I was still full. I did not want to eat anymore apples. Another two hours later I was a little hungry. So I said, “eat apple, sure why not.” So I ate a small apple, and then it was easy. I ate it like nothing. YES!! I did it!! I finished it too! That was my first accomplishment. Hai
