As paramedics arrived on the scene, I was semi coherent, describing the accident for the medics. I had been blown out of my shoes, and the right sleeve of my windbreaker was the only thing holding my arm next to my body. I had 26 broken bones in my face and my left leg looked like a  flesh pretzel. Bridgeport Hospital opted to release me from their trauma center to be shuttled to the masters at Yale New Haven Trauma Unit. Good call indeed.

Friday early evening, I ascend the stairs to the platform of the Fairfield CT train station. I was there to pick up a family friend coming in from New York City.  I remember sleet, rain and blowing wind.I n fact, beside myself, there was no one on the platform. I saw bright lights coming toward me very quickly. a very strong hurricane like wind blew me right off the platform. Or so I’ve been told by the metro north detectives working the case.
