CALL FOR PAPERS
Those wishing to to present a paper at the Conference are asked to send a copy of it to the Secretary of the Society (contract details below) by the end of January 2009. Papers need not be on the theme of the conference, although a preference may be displayed towards selecting those that are, other things being equal. A whole paper is preferred, but an abstract is acceptable. Papers should take approximately twenty minutes to deliver, leaving ten minutes or so for questions. Submissions are acceptable in either hard or soft copy. Time and space at the Conference will be limited, so we shall have to be selective, even allowing for the fact that we plan to run parallel sessions and encourage people presenting papers to keep to
half-hour slots.

Welcome to the BSPR homepage

The British Society for the Philosophy of Religion (registered charity 1027548) was founded in 1993 and is the UK’s main forum for the interchange of ideas in the philosophy of religion. The Society holds a major conference in Britain every other year, devoted to a particular area of the subject. Its most recent conference, on ‘The Concept of God’, was held at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford University, in September 2007; speakers at the plenary sessions included Paul Helm, Brian Leftow, Peter van Inwagen and Richard Swinburne.
The BSPR is also affiliated to the European Society for the Philosophy of Religion (click on name for link), which holds a biennial conference in years alternating with the BSPR’s UK conference.
