Please help us reach our goal.
Scrabble players have been very generous in the past help many special causes.
Cecile Betts was one of our special scrabble players. During her later years, Cecile was legally blind, but that didn’t stop her from playing scrabble at club, right up to August 2009. She was helped by The Braille Institute and she in turn organized and taught a scrabble class for other visually impaired players.
Cecile & I created the first scrabble tournament benefit for The Braille Institute on her 90th birthday, November 4, 2008. The first year we raised more than $800; last year we raised over $1,500.
It is my intention to continue the tradition of an annual fund raising benefit in Cecile’s name, each year on the 1st Sunday of November.
