New Years Day 2010

This party represents a common scene, repeated endless times, at hundreds of locations around the word.  Scrabble animals just can’t get enough of the game and congregate to bring in the new year with a bingo or two.

I was one of 10 players to attend Pat Reed’s scrabble bash this year.  It was a 7 game event with a pot luck, while the Rose Parade and Football Games were streaming in the background.  (Year’s ago when I was a football junkie I would have never believed you if you had told me that in 2010 I would opt for scrabble over football.)

If you have never been to a scrabble/pot luck you wouldn’t believe the scene.  It seems that most scrabble players are great cooks and love food, only second to scrabble.  Each player brought an amazing dish to the potluck.  There were only 10 players but enough food for 50.

Here are the scrabble results with a few pictures.

1st Tom Singleton        6/1 +486

2nd Gary Moss             6/1 +260

3rd Pat Reed                 5/2 +133
