NO POO, MONTH 16

I know it’s been a while, lots of people have been asking me how my hair is these days, and why I don’t update so much anymore... Well, it’s simply because my hair routine has normalized, and it’s always the same now! So it’s kind of boring!

I got a good three inches cut off today, my hair badly needed it cause since the beginning of the summer, I haven’t had the time to do any moisturizing treatment, so the ends got dry. Not doing the cassia these days either, for lack of time. But I’m happy, it’s one step closer to getting rid of my old highlights!

Still going strong on the CO routine, once or twice a week, depending of how my hair looks, and a little aloe vera gel and coconut oil as a leave in.

A few people have been asking “when do the flakes go away?”
Well, depends on what the flakes are. If they are just dead skin that needs to come off, and since you’re not using sulfates anymore, you need to “scritch” your scalp. It’s kind of gross if I explain it like that, but basically, you’re mechanically doing what shampoo was doing chemically. How I proceed, is that before a wash, I gently scratch (gently!) with my nails, or rub vigorously my scalp with the tips of my fingers to loosen up the dead skin. If I get just a few flakes, I wash as usual, if I get a lot, I use the 50/50 white vinegar/water solution. It’s on and off really, some periods I get lots of flakes, then I have to use the WV/W a lot more often. Sometimes, I get barely any.

Here is a picture of my hair from Wednesday, I did a CO last Friday night, and did a water only (and weak vinegar rinse) on Tuesday morning.

Good night!
