Bullis Charter School is very excited about participating in the first ever great turtle race. 18 sixth grade students, 4 teachers, and our principal just returned from a week-long trip to Playa Grande in Costa Rica. During our time there, we had the amazing opportunity to see two mother leatherback sea turtles laying their eggs, helped release hatchlings, and participated in excavating hatched nests. Both turtles we saw are participating in the Great Turtle Race and we can’t wait to see where they go after they leave the beach at Playa Grande.
