a day at the beach ... well ..umm, the lake ;)
fuck it's hot – there doesn't seem to be a break from it either...
So yesterday we had a day planned to do all this stuff but we received a call from Kazanari San asking if we wanted to go to the beach with him and his family for the day. We were tired but very keen to do something different.
Kazanari San picked us up at 11am and we went to a pebbly beach about a 30 minute drive away. He has a $15,000 jet ski so we played on that all day. Simon Loved it. They are such drinkers here too. As soon as we got there it was beers and vodka and grapefruit juice. Kazanari's wife came in a separate car and the two youngest kids were put in a child minding place for the day and the two eldest were with us. They are soo cute. I didn’t have any togs so when it came time for me to get on the jet ski with simon I went with my jeans on. The bloody thing is so big my jeans barely got wet. On the way home Kazanari took us to visit his grandmother in her nursing home. She is Simon's first sensei's wife. Simon was overcome with emotion to see her. She recognized him and told him he hadn’t aged a bit. She then went on to say hurry up and have kids.
We were both pretty knackered last night. Simon trained and I studied and relaxed. I am addicted to my mobile phone and contacting home at the moment. Taking photo's all around the house and sending them home. It's so easy.
So today has been trying to manage the heat. I have now completed Hirogana and I will now just try to expand my vocab. Sigh***
