INTRODUCTION

I am a Consultant Surgeon at St James’s University Hospital, Leeds. I graduated from Leeds University School of Medicine in 1993 and have obtained general and specialist surgical training in Yorkshire. I have spent some time overseas obtaining additional experience in centres of excellence in the Royal Adelaide Hospital (South Australia), The National Cancer Center, Tokyo (Japan) and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (USA). I took up a substantive appointment at St James’s University Hospital, Leeds in January 2008.


My interests include minimally invasive surgery, oesophageal and gastric surgical oncology, benign oesophageal disorders, hernia surgery, gallstone disease, obesity surgery, surgical training, research and education.


My office is located in the new St James’s Institute of Oncology (photographs below), Bexley Wing, St James’s University Hospital, Leeds LS9 7TF.  The oesophago-gastric cancer clinic is held on Wednesday afternoon (alternate weeks) in the surgical suite on the ground floor. A clinic for benign disease is held every Tuesday afternoon on the first floor in Chancellor Wing. I also consult at The Leeds Nuffield Hospital, 2 Leighton Street, Leeds LS1 3EB and the Spire Leeds Hospital, Jackson Avenue, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS8 1NT.
