Now that we have been back in the United States for six months, we feel like we’re in a long distance relationship with our friends in Guatemala. At times, our hearts yearn to be with them, and we are trying to figure out the future of this relationship. Absence definitely makes the heart grow fonder, and we anticipate the next chance to walk the streets of La Limonada, to share with Tita and Monica and the teachers, to hug the children of the school. We’re brainstorming when our next trip will be, and we’ll keep you posted when one develops. In the meantime, we are still doing our best to form a lifestyle of simplicity; one which frees up our time and our funds to continue this beautiful relationship. This leaves us looking for an inexpensive home with a minimal mortgage, and vocations which pay the bills but do not enslave.
Monica loved being here in our community so much last fall that she has already raised money to come back for two months this summer! She will arrive in Cincinnati July 21 and stay through most of September. If you’d like to spend some time with her while she is here, or have her share about the little school in La Limonada with your church or organization, contact us and we can try to arrange accordingly. Peace to you.
