Scott is doing so much better!! He has come a long way in a couple of days and I am so excited. He wrote me a note with the OT and included the above phrase to describe himself, as well as “I love you.”
He is talking bunches and is able to jump in on conversations. He is walking more and eating more. He is not completely himself yet, but he is Scott. His voice is a little off, higher and flatter than normal. But I have heard his old voice a few times, so I think it will come back. His confusion improves with each day. He is a vague sense that he is in the hospital and that something is wrong with him. He asked me if things will be clearer each day and how long it will take for him to go home. I told him it probably won’t be home until after Christmas, but that he may be able to have day passes.
Sometimes he thinks he is at work and talks about writing code or something to that effect. He also mentions a lot of people from work and has at times misidentified family as co-workers. At times he says that he is “in the middle of nowhere” or in “Oklahoma”.
He says he remembers some of the visitors he’s had. For instance he says he remembers Mark, Mitch, and Eric coming to see him and that “Eric came more.”
Thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes. Scott enjoys looking at the cards and pictures. He was able to eat carrot cake on his birthday and opened his presents.
Thank you also for your continued support and prayers. I know that many have given money, prepared meals, picked up our mail, taken care of things as our house, as well as numerous other acts of kindness. I appreciate it all more than I can express.
