Sorry I have not been able to update my blog very often.  I do not have Internet access at my apartment.   There is NOTHING to do at the rehab center on weekends so I have been taking Scott home on Saturdays and Sundays.  It is good for both of us; although, I have to take him back to the hospital at night.

Things are looking up.   I am starting to see some real progress with Scott.  His memory of the past has improved greatly and he is remembering more and more from the present.   He is also starting to retain information that he has learned from day to day, which will speed up his recovery...hopefully.

Everyone at the rehab center says that he is doing great.  But he is definitely not finished yet.   He has a long way to go still.  Recovery from brain injury is a long process, and it is not pretty at times.  Recently he has been having trouble sleeping.  He yells all night long and they have to give him drugs to make him sleep, except that they don’t work so good anymore...just ANOTHER stage to go through on the long road to recovery.

I want him to stay at the rehab center until he is really ready to go home and do outpatient therapy, which is not quite yet.  But if he continues to improve at the current rate, it might not be too long.  Of course, it is important to remember that even when he goes home, it doesn’t mean he is all good.  He will still need lots of therapy and more time to get better.

It seems like an eternity since all this happened, but we just passed the 3 month mark.  I wish with all my heart that it never happened.  But of course we can’t turn back the clock.  I have learned what it really important through all of this.  I just want what is most important to me to come back to me...namely Scott.
