I attended a drug prevention teacher training workshop at a secondary school (grades 7-9) in Tula, Hidalgo.  IMIFAP often provides skills-based training for teachers in different thematic areas depending on the needs of the school (IMIFAP School-based Programs).  Although many of the school-based programs and teacher workshops have a thematic focus (nutrition, hygiene, gender equity, citizenship, sexuality, substance abuse and violence prevention), all of the programs emphasize the development of social, cognitive and emotional skills and competencies throughout the thematic modules. As the following photos demonstrate, the programs are participatory and interactive.
