re-creation re-creation

i woke up this morning thinking still about last night. about the friends i encountered with their heavy hearts, the rain pouring down and the emptiness, loneliness of my apartment when i got back. there is a heaviness still here. a dark cloud overhead. it seems to go well with the mood outside. the rain has been going since thursday...and it continues today. i could not help but think of the body prayer barry read last night...this is pulled from the book “Body Prayer” by Doug Pagitt and Kathryn Prill.

“God is never finished with creation, and God is never finished with us. We are constantly being re-created, and we are invited to join God as co-re-creators of the world. This re-creation happens in our attitudes and spirits as much as the physical world. We re-create when we replace hate with love, hurt with healing, despair with hope. Our prayers beckon re-creation...”

...and then the prayer...

“I wait.
I wait for peace.
I wait for what Jesus promised.
I wait in my schedules, in my agendas, in my life’s routine.
I wait and I extend my hope
To believe
That God will deliver me
And I will be made new.”

my hope today is that the hurt, the heavy hearts, the loneliness, the brokenness will be washed away with the rain. that we will be made new, re-created. that God gives us the strength to carry on and that the sun will start shining again soon.
