GENERAL FAMILY NEWS...
LIFE IT GREAT!!! Fall and Christmas were full of blessings and curses(just like the rest of life). Da Capo is growing slower than we need it to, my work schedule was crazy, and the kids were REALLY busy. We have finally become a real part of Huguenot Road Baptist and have put the Branch’s experience in the past. Now we can learn from it without being overcome with emotion at the loss of so many friends. We have embraced our gift of hospitality and we love having people of all types at our home. It is still hard, but we understand that we can make a difference with this gift.
Tracee is continually busy with year 2 of the Da Capo Institute where she is the Director. Lots to learn, lots to do.. but it is exciting on every front.
Clara is finishing up her potty training and we are loving it.. Sooooon, we will be diaper free. Woo hoo... it seems like we have been buying and dealing with diapers forever. She is absolutely adorable.
Alyssa is in the 5th grade, Emma the 4th, and Joshua is in the 1st grade. They are fine students, and wonderful children. They have their moments as all kids do, but they are a unexplainable blessing to every day All of them play the piano and sing, are active in our church at Huguenot Road Baptist and are students of the Da Capo Institute.
Dolores(Tracee’s mother) moved to Richmond just after Thanksgiving. This has been difficult for all of us, but we are adjusting slowly.
We are excited for another great year. If you are in Richmond, we love hosting old friends and family. Don’t hesitate to ask...
OLD NEWS...
Garrison Competition results: survey says..... inquiring minds want to know.
Jeff and Dr Charles Hulin IV, received an honorable mention in the collaborative piano division. (placing second) and were very pleased with their performance. Alas, first prize would have been nice, but we were beaten by a very talented violin/piano duo. The finals were made up three extremely fine musician teams. (tenor/piano, violin/piano, and bassoon/piano) Overall, the festival was a wonderful experience allowing us to reconnect with old friends as well as make new ones. It was exhilarating to be on such a world class stage, singing such exciting repertoire and to have done so well. Thanks to all of our friends, neighbors and fans for your support and prayers. It made a difference for us in ways that you can never imagine. We will be performing a celebration concert sponsored and hosted by Huguenot Road Baptist Church on Sept 23 at 7pm, featuring the Petrarch Sonnets, Poulenc, and a series of sacred favorites. If you are within driving distance you are invited. If you know musicians, or opportunities for us to perform, please let us know. We play just about anywhere that pays us, and a lot of places that don’t. ;-)
