Why Jeff Gyr, when my real name is Jeff Gordon? NASCAR. When I was choosing my first e-mail address many years ago, I couldn’t get anything very close to my actual name, because of the popularity of good ol’ #24. Jeff Gyr was close enough, and commemorates one of my favorite birds, the Gyrfalcon.
