Leading A DTS and more...

Friends, we wish you could be here with us!  We wish you could see the lives being changed daily, the hearts of our students being filled with faith to make a difference, the look on their face as they realize the heart of the father for them.  We also wish you could see the smiles on our boys faces, Elijah playing on the local soccer team, Carter making up his own language, fully convinced that he’s telling real words.  We wish you could see Bethany and I falling in love more everyday as we see more clearly the way he is unfolding our calling in him.  We just wish you were here, but since you are not, we pray that your heart will be stirred as you read and that you would have a picture of how great God is.

We are in the fifth week of leading the Community Transformations DTS (Discipleship Training School).  We have 42 students and 13 staff, and quite frankly, they are a young group of world changers.

The Community Transformations DTS is a ministry God has given us that teaches missionaries how to view communities holistically, discipling in every area, and then sends them out.  The Outreach Locations we are starting with are Cape Town, South Africa, and New York City.  We will continue to work in both of these places as we see the Lord bring transformation to the communities there.  We want to see education available, job’s and job training, safety, and most importantly, an understanding in those communities of the dignity the Lord made them for.

It’s our fifth week of training in this school.  Our students have passions and gifting in Arts, entertainment, fashion, education, family, church, politics, etc...   During these weeks, they are being discipled in those gifts, learning about missions, and preparing to put them into action.  The ways they put them into action will range from working in art schools and universities to creating curriculum in african school systems and training teachers.  All the time however, the reason we are doing this is because of the gospel, and the message is inviting them to know the God who cares about their families, schools, etc...

There is much more to say and many stories I want to tell, but I want to make sure I don’t overwhelm you who are reading.  Keep updated and drop us an email to say hi.  We love you guys and pray for you often.
To his glory,
Jeff, Bethany, Elijah, and Carter!
