Pipe Band Information
The Dunedin High School Pipe Band
The Dunedin High School Scottish Highlander Pipe Band is an integral part of the Band program, under the direction and leadership of James E, Dykes at Dunedin High School. The Pipe Band is under the instruction of Sandy Keith, a world class piper. Bagpipes are woven into the fabric of the City of Dunedin, a city steeped in the tradition of Scottish Clans, and we celebrate Scottish Music in our community. The Dunedin High School Pipe Band frequently performs at highland games competitions around the State of Florida, at community events, and are a featured section in the Scottish Highlander Marching Band performances. They are leaders in the school and make outstanding contributions to setting a standard of excellence among students. In addition to highland games competitions and community performances, they consistently work to raise funds to cover the numerous expenses with maintaining and nurturing the pipe band program.
The Dunedin High School Pipe Band is comprised of members of the symphonic band, percussion class, and piping class. All students must be enrolled in a band course. The Pipe Band is led and instructed by Mr. Sandy Keith. Sandy is assisted by Rick Abrams and Tim Marchand in scottish percussion.
