The Honeymoon

A week after the wedding we left from Toronto to Barbados, and spent one night at the Rainbow Beach hotel in St. Lawrence Gap. We took in the street scene and ate some island specialties, before flying directly to Bequia the next day.

Bequia is the largest island of the chain of islands between St. Vincent and Grenada. It has a population of approximately 5,000 and just a fledgling tourist industry. St. Vincent is the island both of Jed’s parent’s are from, and tiny Bequia is the location of his earliest childhood memories.  Bequia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines were a great place to relax, while showing Ahmeda a bit of his history, and start making memories of their own as a married couple.

We stayed in a rustic stone cottage in Moonhole and spent most of our days relaxing in the sun, reading, swimming and snorkeling. We managed to squeeze in a scuba dive in the midst of our lazing around. We traveled to St. Vincent to see Mespo where Jed’s parents grew up and climb La Soufriere (the Volcano). Then we spent 5 days and a coupe magical nights sailing the Grenadines with Frits and Marianne on the Atlantis II.
