On these pages you will learn more about our home based company, Aeronaut bvba, run by me and my wife.
Our core business is art, illustration and graphic design.
Art & design, a little history...
I started as an airbrush illustrator and worked for several years in an illustration studio in Antwerp, while doing freelance work at home.
In 1996 I left the studio and started on my own as a freelance illustrator and designer. In that time, most of my work was hand drawn and painted illustrations, mainly for Disney and their licensees.
A lot has changed since then, and most of our work is now done on the computer using Macs, Wacom Cintiq, Adobe software, Painter, and other software. Working on the computer has is faster and easier to edit than traditional painting on cardboard.
Nowadays we do almost everything like illustration, painting, photo retouching, logo design, packaging design, product design, cd cover design, etc...
Clients we work for and worked for in the past are Disney, Frajodis, Studio 100, Tupperware, Panda, Tribeco, Donau Design,Lotus Bakeries, Mediamind, Nicotoy, Carta Mundi, Adimex, etc...
Ceramics
My wife, Karin Wauters is also a professional ceramist with over 20 years of experience in that field.
You can read more about that on these pages.
Music
Since a few years I took up music again. I have loved music all my life and I played keyboards in a few bands in the 70’s and 80’s, that are long forgotten since.
The rise of powerful computers and sophisticated DAWs finally brought an affordable music studio to our homes. So now I am creating music again at home.
In 2008 the first EP “Dreams Are Buried Here...”, a collaboration project with Achim Wierschem (Mindmovie - Germany) and Robin Thomas Quinn (Artie Q - USA), was released on iTunes and other major download stores.
In 2009 I hope to release my first full album with music from my "Songs of Love and Loss" and “Relics” projects.
