A new adventure at the Old Library.

Rome, Paris, Tennessee

Around May 15, 2006, I began a 27-month leave from normal life, which, if all goes according to plan, will take me through a year at Rome and a year at Paris before finally ending up at a new job in Tennessee.  By popular demand (which is to say, three or four people have asked), I will be posting occasional news, stories, and photos at this site.  Please check back from time to time.  Feel free to post comments on the blog pages, send questions for the FAQ pages, or just send me a message whenever you can.  The title of this site, like so many other good things in life, I owe to T Bone Burnett.

I went Euromad out on the road last fall

Between the Roman churches and the German music halls.

Were it not for Mr Gordon and his fine distillery

I might have never got this far. It would be all the same to me.
