MILAN FICTS FESTIVAL

After we checked in to our hotel, we made our way through the fashion district, through the Galleria, past Milan's magnificent Duomo to the opening ceremonies of FICTS 2007. This largest and most important worldwide festival dedicated to sports television and movies was about to begin, and "ABDUCTED BY THE WIND" - our film about snowkiting in Idaho - was included!

Over 100 countries participate, and the event is recognized by the International Olympic Committee. The festival, at the heart of worldwide sports media, would be the highlight of our trip. This is why we came to Europe.
“ABDUCTED BY THE WIND” WINS AWARD AT FICTS!
The event took place in a palatial suite of screening rooms, richly appointed meeting rooms, and the grand ball room of a 16th century pallazo on Piazza della Scala across from the Opera House.

The meetings were enlightening. The screenings went very well. We met people from Algeria, Iran, Serbia, Israel, Burgaria, Uzbekistan, The UK, The USA, and of course Italy. Talented filmmakers and media executives from all over the world with diverse backgrounds were brought together in meaningful ways.
Our screening took place October 31.  The next day, at the awards ceremony "ABDUCTED BY THE WIND" was named for an award!

Video of snowkiters flashed across the screen during the awards portion of the presentation.  That meant we had won!  What a feeling!  Our film had touched the heart of Europe!  FICTS had eyes to see the beauty, the adventure, the extreme fun, and an environmentally pure way to enjoy winter sports.

Later, The Prince of Jordan would receive the organization's highest award for "Peace through Sport".  This is a great film that will surely make it's way to a television near you. What an honor to appear on the same stage with His Royal Highness.  What an honor to be recognized for an award with such a great group of filmmakers.
Thanks for your support.  “ABDCUTED BY THE WIND” is available in DVD!
