One to One Laptop Program
One to One Laptop Program
2008
March 5, 2008
Dear Parent or Guardian,
In order to enhance the learning of your student(s) here at Ozark, the faculty and board wants to implement a one to one laptop program. Much of our computer equipment is due for an update, so we feel it is time to take Ozark to the next step in technological integration.
We want to implement a program that will provide endless resources for instruction and learning. Every teacher and every student would receive a laptop computer. This will enable them to have access to computer tools in each class and every building. After being here for four years, our graduates will then own their computer, enabling them to take it to college.
As witnessed in high schools and private schools that have implemented this program, students often increase their quality of work and creativity on assignments and have more enthusiasm for school. Student achievement increases and test scores rise. It gives teachers creative tools to enhance and individualize instruction, greatly benefitting each and every student.
There are many good reasons for implementing a one to one, but at Ozark we think the number one reason is that our world is changing around us and our culture is becoming more media rich as Jesus’ coming is ever nearer. The computer is one of our most powerful tools, enabling many people to be reached with the gospel at a speed that boggles the mind. To use this tool effectively, our students need to be immersed in the medium so it can become second nature to use in creative ways.
If this is what you want for your student we need to hear from you in order to make it happen. Please fill out the accompanying survey. Or you can contact me directly at jstrack@ozarkacademy.org or call the school and choose extension 1201. Thank you for your participation and support, as we seek to make Ozark Adventist Academy the best place for our youth to learn and prepare for eternity.
Sincerely yours,
Jason Strack, MS.Ed.
