My name is Jason McInnes.  I have lived in Chicago, IL since August of 1995.  I grew up in Novi, MI, which is right smack between Detroit and Ann Arbor. 

I’m a music teacher.  Most of my classes are for kids, but I teach some adults, too.  I teach general music at Rogers Park Montessori, and I teach guitar at the Old Town School of Folk Music.

My Music Philosophy

“It’s called play music for a reason.”  I say that a lot because I feel too many people think that music is a job.  It’s not.  It’s fun.  It’s creative.  First have a good time and getting better and learning more and all that will come much, much easier.
