Come check out a great night of music at the Eagle Tavern on June 5th with our good friends and up & coming bands the Ghost Echoes, Gills and Countless Others. The show starts about 9-9:30. The Rabs play second. In conjunction with Starcleaners Records, the long forgotten Static Faction LP Analog Girl is slotted for release in the next six months or so on vinyl. It’s an hour long, so kick back in a relaxed posture and check it out.

First, I’m playing a solo show for my friend Chris Johanson’s art opening at the Jack Hanley Gallery on March 8th and will be dipping into my whole ovre of material from Aerosol Species, Static Faction and the Rabbles, plus some covers. It should be a blow out of a party/”Mission School” family reunion. If you’re in SF you don’t want to miss it.
Also, the same night in China Town, Jamie Rabble’s band the Ghost Echoes will be performing at the Li Po Lounge. Catch them now as their star is rising! The band is gearing up for a new recording with the Aboriginal Mobil Unit

1/24/07: New From Aboriginal Records we have what I call the Digital Landfill Series where I’ll tap into rare recordings from our vault of live dictaphone bootlegs, band practice tapes of improv psychedelic noise jams, lost demos, interviews and more. It’s a cool process for me to be able to reconnect with some old ideas and lost memories and great for you, the listener of free(k) music to tap into our musical stream of consciousness. Soon it will all be downloadable too. The first installment of the DLS features a long forgotten band practice tape of the band NoiseStar recorded at Starcleaners in July of 1995.

Jesse and I have been finishing up guitar and vocal tracks on the new Rabbles LP RabbleON. It’s being recorded on my Teac 4 track reel to reel, so it’s a little more stripped down than it’s predecessors and we’re really digging the results so far. RabbleON will contain three new Marina songs and a Jamie song. We’ll hopefully be done by March. I’ll be posting up some mixes pretty soon.
In other news, Bob Noise and I have begun a cross country music collaboration mining old NoiseWall tapes and starting some new stuff via email. Check myspace and right here for some new soundz.
1/5/08: There’s been a flurry of Rabbles related web activity over the last few months I’d like to make note of. First, Marina Poet Rabbles’ got a new Myspace site chronicling some of her other musical projects, bands and poems. Ghost Echoes is a current SF band with Rabs bassist Jamie on guitar and his brothers from Long Beach Johnny on drums and Franz on bass. They’ve been playing out a bunch and have a new LP project slated for production in early 08. “I don’t even want people to know they’re listening to a band” states Franz of the recording. Finally, J.Lee and Bob “Noise” Bradley got together over the holidaze and put up a new NoiseWall Myspace site. The duo have played together on and off for years and are in the process of making their archives available online. All these sites have loads of free music to download, so load up those iPods with some fresh sounds for 2008!
