Luis Jaramillo’s work has been published in Open City, Gamers (Soft Skull Press) and Tin House magazine. He is the Associate Chair of the Writing Program at the New School, where he oversees the undergraduate curriculum, the Riggio Honors Program: Writing & Democracy, and teaches courses in fiction and nonfiction. He has also taught writing and yoga workshops at the New School, NYU, and the Laughing Lotus Yoga Studio in Manhattan. He is the curator of the Facts & Fictions Reading Series at the Montauk Club.

The New School
The Writing Program and the Food Studies department present a reading from the inaugural issue of Edible Manhattan, a new quarterly magazine that investigates the diverse food culture of Manhattan.The reading features Brian Halweil, Executive Editor of Edible Manhattan and senior researcher and John Gardner Public Service Fellow at Worldwatch Institute; Gabrielle Langholtz, editor of Edible Brooklyn and Edible Manhattan, faculty in NYU’s Food Studies program, and publicity manager for Greenmarket; and Michael Harlan Turkell, photo editor for Edible Manhattan. Turkell has been selected for the upcoming 25 Under 25: Up-and-Coming American Photographers and has received a Photo District News Photo Annual Award. The forum will be moderated by Luis Jaramillo, associate chair of The New School Writing Program.
